Feng Shui Water Fountains

Inside and Outside of the home

Water fountains outside your home balance the energy of your surroundings. To add some additional elements to an outdoor fountain, consider placing some rocks in the water, giving an extra bit of 'earth' to the water fountain. Curved and wavy lines in outdoor fountains and other garden decorating can balance out the straight lines of a home or other building. Place the fountain so that the water flows towards the house.

The placement of the fountain, whether indoors or outside, is important. Placing one inside to the left of your main door can help ward off negative energy coming from outside your room and bring good luck. (Be careful not to place water elements on both sides of the door! This may have unintended, negative consequences.)

Water fountains should also face into the room, to prevent good energy from flowing out. The North, East, and Southeast portions of the room are excellent positions for water elements. With proper positioning, you can also achieve certain goals with the addition of a water fountain or water fall. For example, a water fall placed in an office or library can increase knowledge, in addition to removing negative ions and refreshing the chi in the room. Water fountains are excellent ways to incorporate Feng Shui into your life. Think of ways that you can make positive improvements to your energies and wellbeing.
